The Sugar Mound Arts & Crafts Festival is held annually on the second full weekend in October at the Linn County Fairgrounds in historic Mound City, KS. There are over 650 booths and exhibits. Of these, at least 30 are taste tempting food vendors! All arts and crafts are original and handmade by the exhibitors. There is also an Antique Barn. The Arts & Crafts Festival parade is held on Main Street in Mound City on Saturday morning preceding the festival. The annual Sugar Mound 5K run is held on Saturday morning, starting at Jayhawk Linn High School.

Sugar Mound 5k, Run for Adults and Run for kids 12 & under - Saturday morning
Line-up at Jayhawk-Linn High School is at 7:30 am. The run begins at 8:00 am.
It is a benefit run for Kayden Samyn, who is a second grader at the Jayhawk Linn Elementary School fighting Leukemia.

What type of exhibits will there be?
Artists, Craftsmen, Tole painting, China Painting, Candles, Quilts, Woodworking, Oil Painting, Water Colors, Weaving, Dolls, Crochet, Ceramics, Leather works, Jewelry making, Stained Glass, Pottery and many, many more.

How do I get to Mound City?
Mound City is approximately 60 miles South of Overland Park, KS. Use this Google Maps link for specific driving directions.

Where can I park?
Parking at the fairgrounds is very limited. Buses will be running from the High School, CO-OP and the Mound City Business District throughout each day. Camper and trailer hookups are available at the fairgrounds at a price of $20.00/night (electric service only). NO DOGS PLEASE.

What type of food and lodging is available in the area?
There will be numerous food vendors at the festival. Mound City and several of the surrounding towns have both restaurants and fast food establishments.

Although there are no motels in Mound City, there are nearby Bed & Breakfast establishments and hotel/motel accommodations in other nearby cities. We've listed a few numbers to help you get started.

Admission is absolutely FREE. Come and have a great time!

How can I become an exhibitor?
Simply write the Sugar Mound Arts & Crafts committee at P.O. Box 128, Mound City, KS 66056 and request an application for a booth. Applications are sent out on the first of April every year complete with detailed instructions and a fee schedule.
